Our Story
Life isn't easy - we're all imperfect people living in an unpredictable world with brokenness all around us. We need one another now more than ever before, especially during life's low-points. While life has no guarantees, tragedy and trials seem to be constant. We're all guaranteed to either be currently in a tough time, approaching a tough time or coming out of a tough time. We live with the expectation of brokenness in our world and desire to encourage families to "Press On" through their struggle. Our vision is for no one to experience their crisis alone!
The Pressing On story didn't start with simply a good idea, but rather out of personal experience and the pain of crisis for the Reeder family. Having lost loved ones, buried family members and struggled through their own daughter's healthcare crisis within the first decade of marriage, Richie and Regan Reeder desire to now walk with families during their time of need to uplift, resource and coach them through their tough time. Based on their personal journey, the Reeders are passionate about bringing hope to the hurting, providing care in crisis and helping others put plans in place to persevere, especially those affected by long-term hospitalizations, special needs and terminal illnesses.
Richie and Regan have been married for 17 years and live in Pittsburgh, PA with their two daughters, Alivia (13) and Myka (9). Having worked in schools, churches, professional sports and the corporate marketplace - the Reeders bring a wide-variety of professional skills and expertise to the Pressing On team. Both Richie and Regan have earned Master's degrees in their respective fields and are certified, credentialed volunteers at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. As a family, the Reeders enjoy great food, traveling, reading and attending sporting events together.
